Warashi is made by Adam Markocki, Poland (“we”). This policy explains what the Warashi app and this website collect. Contact: adam@warashi.app.

The short version

Your Mac's history stays on your Mac. The app sends update checks, licence checks and anonymous usage statistics. This website uses no cookies and measures visits anonymously.

Data that stays on your Mac

All measurements, history, app and process names, paths, command lines, signatures, alerts and (if you turn it on) activity records are stored only in a database on your Mac. We never receive them.

Data the app sends

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which features are used and to fix problems, the app sends usage events to PostHog (PostHog Inc.), hosted in the European Union. Each event contains a random install identifier created on your Mac, the app version and build, the macOS version, the chip family, the language setting, and the event name and its details (for example “History viewed”, a setting and its new value, the kind of alert that fired). It never contains app or process names, file paths, history, activity records, licence keys, names, email addresses or IP-based profiles; person profiles are disabled. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You may object at any time by emailing us; we'll help you find your Mac's install ID and delete its events.

Update checks

The app downloads an update feed from warashi.app (hosted on GitHub Pages) once a day if update checks are on. GitHub may log the request's IP address as part of operating its service.

Licence checks

If you buy Warashi Pro, the app sends your licence key and a random activation identifier to Polar (Polar Software Inc.), our merchant of record, to activate and validate the licence. Polar processes your purchase (name, email, payment and tax details) under its own privacy policy.

This website

This website uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. To see which pages help people, it sends anonymous usage events to PostHog (EU servers): the page you view, how you arrived (the referring site and campaign tags), clicks on links and buttons, your browser, device type and approximate country (derived from your IP address, which PostHog doesn't keep). It doesn't build a profile of you or follow you across visits, and it sends nothing if your browser asks sites not to track you (Do Not Track). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log IP addresses for security. If you join the waitlist, your email address is delivered to us by Web3Forms (a form-to-email service) and kept only to tell you when Warashi is available; then we delete the list. It's never sent to our analytics, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in Poland: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych). Email us to exercise them.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes, with a new date at the top.
