The beta & licences

What the free Warashi beta is, how it ends when Warashi 1.0 is released, and what happens to your history.

Help menu

Warashi is in a free public beta: every version numbered 0.x. Thank you for trying it early.

During the beta

  • Everything is unlocked and free, on as many Macs as you like.
  • Updates arrive automatically, so you always have the newest beta.
  • Settings › Licence shows Unlocked (pre-release build).
Settings, Licence tab: Warashi, Unlocked (pre-release build)

When Warashi 1.0 arrives

  1. The beta stops

When 1.0 is released (and on 1 March 2027 at the latest), the beta stops measuring. The popover and window show The beta has ended.

  2. Update to 1.0

Click Update to Warashi 1.0. Warashi 1.0 is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, for up to two Macs.

  3. Enter your licence

After buying, enter your licence key in Settings › Licence. Your history from the beta is still there.

Good to know: Your history is never deleted when the beta ends: it stays on your Mac, ready for 1.0.
